The peaceful neighbourhood of Majengo in Kericho town was shattered after the lifeless body of Collins Kipkorir was found hanging from the roof of his modest one-room rented house.
It was a grim discovery that sent shockwaves of grief through the community.
According to sources close to the deceased, the 24-year-old is believed to have taken his own life after reportedly losing a significant sum of money.
NTV reports that Kipkorir lost KSh 120,000, which was meant for his employer, through gambling on the Aviator platform.

The young man, who was employed to manage an M-Pesa shop in Kericho town, allegedly used the business's funds to turn his luck around, only to meet devastating losses.
Kipkorir's nephew, Aron Kosgey, revealed that the deceased entrusted a friend to oversee the M-Pesa shop on the fateful morning.
Kosgey disclosed that the deceased informed the friend that he would return shortly after attending to some errands in town.
However, all attempts to reach Kipkorir later in the day proved futile, raising concerns among his relatives.
"We tried severally to contact him but he was not answering the calls," said Kosgey, reflecting the family's anxiety over Kipkorir's whereabouts.
Their frantic search came to a tragic end when his body was discovered in his Majengo house.
The police, upon arrival at the scene, found no suicide note, leaving Kipkorir's death a painful mystery.
On March 22, the social media personality posted on Facebook that people should not confuse his personality with his attitude.
According to him, personality defines him, but attitude depends on different individuals. He would, however, not change who he is to impress people.
His body was removed and taken to Siloam Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
