An 18-year-old boy in Nyakach, Kisumu County, has been arrested for beating a relative to death for calling his father a witch.
According to a report by Citizen Digital, the suspect was in the company of his father on their way home when they met the aforementioned relative, who accused his father of being a witch.
The defendant engaged in a confrontation with the relative, overpowering him before delivering a blow to his head with a wooden stick.

The injured individual was promptly taken to Nyabondo Mission Hospital and subsequently transferred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), where he succumbed to his injuries.
In retaliation, unidentified individuals later took the life of the father and burnt down residences within their homestead.
The police are still investigating the matter.
Elsewhere, in December 2023, residents of Kapweria area were reeling from shock following a bizarre incident where a 13-year-old girl hacked her mother to death using a machete.
The teenager reportedly attacked her mother and killed her following a dispute over a mobile phone.
Transmara East sub-county police boss Boniface Kavoo confirmed the tragic occurrence, stating that the girl attacked her 55-year-old mother, leaving her with deep cuts to her head.
According to reports, the lady later succumbed to her injuries after a lot of bleeding. The police chief disclosed that neighbours responded to cries from the homestead and found the victim writhing in pain while pleading for help.
