Kisumu: 24-Year-Old Man Dies After Clashing With Another Over Woman

• A man in Kisumu is on the run after allegedly killing another with a knife following a bitter exchange over a woman
• The deceased, identified as Otieno, 24, succumbed to stomach injuries a few moments after he arrived at the hospital
• According to the area chief, Alfred Ondola, the suspect fled the scene, but locals positively identified him and is being pursued by the police

Police in Kisumu have launched a search for a man accused of stabbing another after clashing over a woman in a suspected love triangle.

The suspect, identified as Otieno, 24, reportedly attacked the deceased with a knife after a bitter exchange that turned physical and tragic in the end.

According to a report by Citizen Digital, the deceased succumbed to the injuries in the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

"Otieno, who is 24-years-old was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he died. The two had engaged in a bitter exchange over a woman earlier," Ondola stated.

How did the man die in the incident?

Area chief Alfred Ondola recounted that when the argument escalated, the suspect was overcome by anger and brandished a knife, which he used to stab the deceased.

"After the argument, the suspect drew out a knife and stabbed the deceased Otieno in the stomach," Ondola explained further.

He said the suspect was identified at the scene before running away, leaving the deceased lying in a pool of blood.

Police in the area have started investigations using possible leads in a bid to track down the suspect.

"Residents positively identified the suspect on the run, h. However, he managed to escape before the police arrived at the scene, where they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood. The police are looking into crucial leads that could lead to the suspect's arrest," he said.

Kitengela man kills another over a woman

In Kitengela, Kajiado county, a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death with a fellow man after quarreling over a woman.

The man, identified as Kapedo, was stabbed and dropped at the hospital with three men who disappeared after leaving him at the hospital gate.

According to a statement by the Kajiado Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect was later arrested.
