Maureen Vihenda moved out of Kitale in search of greener pastures in Nairobi after her father died following a long struggle with a disease.

She got a low-paying job as a bar attendant, a job she didn’t like because she was inexperienced and caused the employer massive losses.

Where Maureen's problems started

In a YouTube interview with Fridah Brown, Maureen disclosed that her life took a dramatic turn when she met a man who requested her hand in marriage.

Given her desperate situation, she agreed to the offer, unaware that she was getting into a relationship with a polygamous man.

After giving birth to three kids, Maureen was shocked to discover that her husband had several other wives.

“One of the wives told me she had been married to my man for over 10 years but was unable to give birth, so we agreed he marries someone else to give him kids,” she recalled.

Boss changed demeanour towards her

Unable to live in the multi-wife household, she moved out and started living independently again, earning a living as a cleaner.

The problem was that her boss was very harsh, but she persevered because it was her only source of income.

One day, the boss became very friendly to Maureen after a human resource manager she had fired reported the company to KRA for tax evasion.

"As it happened, I was the only employee who knew the HR’s home since I had been close to him," she continued.

Maureen offered KSh 2 million for murder

She knew what lay ahead when the boss offered her KSh 2 million to show her where the former employee lived.

The deal was that she would be picked by a group of men and show the man's house before she was paid.

While on the way to Kitengela, she noticed one of the men had a pistol. Upon questioning, the man opened up that they had been sent to kill the employee.

"I managed to talk the men into aborting the mission because they, too, didn't find it prudent to kill an innocent man," Maureen continued.

Maureen is now saved

It was a move that saved her life and that of the human resource manager, but her boss fired her for failing to accomplish the mission.

Since then, Maureen has been in and out of menial jobs and illegal businesses, but she managed to find salvation and now leads a clean life.

She is yet to stabilise financially but is happy that her dark past is no longer part of her.

Hitman exposes woman offering KSh 590k for murder

Meanwhile, serial killer cop Rosemary Ndlovu is back in court with her ex-colleague, Nomsa Mudau, for conspiring to kill Mudau's husband.

One of the hitmen commissioned for the assassination told the court how Mudau offered KSh 590,000 from a KSh 22 million insurance payout for the hit.

Both Mudau and Ndlovu have pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit murder in the Kempton Park Regional Court.
