Kiambu - A new political coalition has emerged in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region following the much-anticipated Limuru 3 meeting.
The much-anticipated meeting lived up to expectations, with politicians, mostly allied to the opposition, taking turns criticising the Kenya Kwanza government.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also faced an onslaught as speakers accused him of failing the region.

They claimed he had done nothing to safeguard their interest despite being the senior most government official in the region.
The meeting, which brought together political leaders, professionals, and businessmen from Mount Kenya, resolved to form the Haki coalition to safeguard their interests.
"That we the people of the region have resolved we shall unite under one umbrella movement to safeguard our interests and to speak as one mountain with one voice," said former Laikipia governor Ndiritu Muriithi.
They declared that the coalition would work under the guidance of former president Uhuru Kenyatta, arguing that he's still the region's spokesperson.
Prior to the meeting, a section of Mt Kenya leaders supporting the Kenya Kwanza Alliance dismissed the relevance of the gathering.
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah said the meeting is outdated, describing it as an ethical gathering that is not inclusive.
Despite emerging divisions, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua expressed his backing for the one-man, one-vote, one-shilling revenue-sharing formula.
Gachagua also offered an olive branch to opposition leaders in Mt. Kenya, expressing his readiness to meet with Uhuru and Karua.
On Thursday, May 16, Public Service CS Moses Kuria affirmed his attendance at the Limuru III conference despite opposition from Kenya Kwanza leaders like Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Kuria highlighted his longstanding involvement in past Limuru meetings, emphasising his role as a common thread between them.
According to Kuria, Limuru III's main agenda revolves around discussions on revenue allocation to the populous Mt Kenya region.
Kuria expressed scepticism about the appropriateness of a senior government official like himself joining others in voicing complaints at the conference.
