Reverend Lucy Natasha has sounded the alarm over the rise in the gold-digging phenomenon in Kenya.

Are Kenyan women gold diggers?

In an interview with Oga Obinna, Natasha said women are no longer in relationships for love but for money.

Natasha said men should be wary of women who engage in transactional relationships for money rather than love.

She added that the woman must be a worthy companion with a sense of shared responsibility.

"In our generation, many women are not looking for love. They are looking for help. They are not in love with your heart. They are in love with your cash. When they enter a relationship, they just come purposely for what they can get financially.
"There is nothing wrong with giving to somebody you love. But don't be a gold-digger, be a gold carrier. The difference is this: when getting married, as a woman, you should also be able to bring some title deeds, logbooks and companies. We shouldn’t have a generation of women that just draw eyebrows but can’t write business plans," said Rev Natasha.

Reacting to the advice, netizens, especially men, said her message was spot on.

Is Lucy Natasha from a rich family?

The flashy preacher has always maintained that she was raised in a humble home.

In January 2023, Natasha wrote on Facebook that her mother, reverend Esther Wanjiru Mugambi, and her three siblings lived in a single room.

She said she had a challenging early childhood and urged her followers to fight the battles their parents never won.
