Mother's Day 2024: Father Celebrates Himself For Raising 2 Children Alone, Thanks Their "Egg Donor"

As the world commemorated International Mother's Day, a single father went against the grain to celebrate himself.

In a heartfelt declaration of independence, Xolani Mbhodla Malinga shared his pride in embracing the role of both mother and father.

Mother absent in the kids' lives

Malinga disclosed that he has successfully raised two children, a son and a daughter, single-handedly.

He threw shade on the "egg donor" who gave birth to the little ones but has been missing in their upbringing.

However, he did not share the reasons behind the two leading separate lives or why the mother is absent in the children's lives.

"Mr Independent, Mr doesn't-need-a-woman. I've done it all myself," the proud father wrote.

The elusive conversation on deadbeat mothers

His post attracted over 1,300 comments and 3,000 shares, with many praising him for taking on the role in his fellow parent's absence.

Another cross-section questioned why he was congratulated for doing his job as a parent.

The issue of deadbeat mothers came up as netizens noted that society was not mature enough to speak openly about mothers who abandoned their kids.

Elsewhere, Divinar Ogari revealed that when she gave birth to quadruplets, her life took a drastic turn, with four babies demanding attention simultaneously.

Unable to continue working as a classroom teacher, she changed her career trajectory and started teaching Swahili online.

This decision enabled her to remain a present mother while working from the comfort of her home.
