Mugithi singer KarehB has broken her silence as the driver of the ill-fated Easy Coach bus, involved in the tragic accident claiming the life of her son, appeared in court today.
KarehB expressed a mix of emotions after learning that the driver, identified as George Onyango Riako, had been arrested and arraigned in court on charges related to the incident.
Riako, facing a slew of charges including causing death and multiple counts of injury, pleaded not guilty before the Kisumu law court.

The court proceedings presided over by Principal Magistrate D.K Mtai at the Winam Law Court shed light on the circumstances leading to the accident that claimed the life of Joseph Mwadulo and left several others injured.
Nation Africa reported that the accused was charged with overspeeding on April 1, resulting in a fatal accident along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway.
It was further alleged that Riako applied an emergency brake, causing the bus to swerve and overturn, inflicting injuries on nine students.
During the court session, Riako's lawyer argued for reasonable bond terms, emphasising his client's commitment to cooperate with the legal process.
Consequently, the accused was granted bail set at Ksh.200,000 cash or an alternative bond of Ksh.500,000.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the prosecution has been directed to furnish the defence with witness statements, with a mention scheduled for April 25, 2024, where a hearing date will be determined.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is also expected to amend the charge sheet to include statements from additional witnesses, as 23 students are yet to provide their accounts to the police.
The case has drawn widespread attention, not only due to the tragic loss of life but also because of the emotional impact on KarehB and her family.
In a recent update, the grieving mother took to Facebook to express her distress over the actions of unscrupulous individuals.
According to her, the audacious individuals have been attempting to con her under the pretence of offering condolences.
"People have the audacity to call me to con me. Why do people take advantage of people's situations?" she wrote.
