Residents of 10 estates within the sprawling Eastlands area are set to go without water for a few days after raging floods swept away a critical pipeline.

Which Nairobi estate will miss water in Nairobi?

According to the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, the unfortunate state will affect Tassia, Nyayo Estate, Embakasi Village and Park Estate 1 and 2 estates.

Pipeline, Plot 10 Estates, Embakasi Jua Kali and surrounding areas will also be affected.

“We would like to notify our customers that the water pipeline along Outer Ring Road has been swept away at the Ngong River Crossing at Kware,” Nairobi Water said in a statement.

Torrential rains that have been incessantly pounding Nairobi have flooded and destroyed homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure across the country.

80 people evacuated from Nairobi building

Nairobi county politician Rodriques Mulindi said the occupants of the newly constructed apartment were at risk of losing their lives.

The landlord of the crumbling building asked the politician to let the tenants stay as he promised to rectify the contractor's mess.

Mulindi also disclosed that the occupants of the nearby informal structures were also evacuated.
