Nairobi - A man has opened up about a heartbreaking experience that unfolded nearly seven years ago.

We handed over everything, Andrew Garisa

Andrew Garisa was attacked at gunpoint in 2017 as he returned home from work with his colleagues.

They were six in total but only Garisa survived the traumatising event that he painfully narrated.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Garisa recalled they were in three groups as they were going home in the evening.

"Someone appeared before us from a footpath. He crossed in front of us and hid under a bypass. When we approached that area, he shot me once in the stomach and said everybody should get down. I told him I couldn't lie down because he had already hurt me, so if he wanted to steal from us, he could do that and then go. We handed over everything we had, including our phones and wallets, but he never picked anything," he narrated.

Garisa said the man insisted that they lie down before he shot him a second time, which prompted his friends to lie down.

The struggling father said when they lay down, his colleagues were each shot in the head, and they died on the spot.

"I was left there arguing and refusing to lie down, so he shot me in my ribs. Then, another on my legs, and it touched on a place that I cannot mention now, and I was hurt. I was left there crying to God to help me. Then, from the people who came to check what had happened. I wish I died that day," he noted.

Nairobi businessman robbed at gunpoint

Separately, a few days ago, Moses Mwenda said he was on his way home when a gang of eight approached and robbed him of his valuables.

He disclosed that he lost his HP laptop, crucial documents, and expensive jewellery, as well as KSh 300,000 cash.

The investigating officer at Muthaiga Police Station, Simon Wanyoike, said the police were yet to retrieve the scene's CCTV footage or apprehend the suspects.
