A mother longs for a reunion with her daughter, whom she claimed she had not spoken to for five years.

Peninah Kanyeri John said she and her daughter are not on good terms after having a major disagreement.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Peninah admitted she caused the fallout with her daughter, which sprung from her broken marriage.

"I left my marriage after almost 12 years after I found out my husband was HIV positive, but she never told me. I got into depression and became an alcoholic. I also sold alcohol so that I could take my daughters to school and pay other bills.

However, my daughter never approved of my methods of making ends meet since she had never seen me drunk. That was when our relationship took a strain," she said.

Peninah gives her life to Jesus Christ

Peninah said her daughter walked out of her house, and she never followed up with her until she reformed.

When Peninah gave her life to Jesus Christ, she tried to reach out to her daughter, but her efforts bore no fruit.

"It has been five years since I last talked to her. I tried my best, but she was rude. Her siblings tried to talk to her, but she shut them off. No one has been able to get through to her," the mother of four cried.

The Nairobi woman said she remained hopeful that her relationship with her daughter would be restored one day.

"I always feel bad when I remember how close we were, and suddenly, that bridge was burned. I keep praying to God to help her. I have learned about forgiveness, and I hope she will be able to forgive me, too," she said.
