Kikuyu gospel singer Muigai wa Njoroge's ex-wife Gladys Njeri Muigai is emotional after a lovely surprise.

The musician's first wife took to social media to share the touching moment her daughter Bernice Muhiko showed her love.

She showed off the beautiful, handmade and homemade gifts she received from her adorable daughter.

"Coming home and finding this present from my baby girl Bernice Muhiko. It feels so sweet. I thank God for this blessing . I am cutting onions already ," the caption read.

You're the best mum, Njeri's daughter

Among the gifts was a handwritten letter from the kind-hearted girl expressing her gratitude to her mum.

"You are the best mum in the whole world. I love you so much, mum. You mean so much to me. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being my strength and best friend. From your loving Bernice," the thoughtful girl penned.

She also made a beautiful bright-coloured card from manilla paper, as seen in the photo shared online.

Gift on Mother's Day, Quincy

TUKO.co.ke spoke to a mum who said he would be excited if her son wrote her a note acknowledging her efforts.

"Surely, it is a massive thing if a parent gets praise from their sons or daughters. Who doesn't? But not many, I assume, get some love from their kids. It may depend on the relationship one has with one's child. But I would be shouting from the mountaintops if I got a gift from my son, especially with Mother's Day approaching," Quincy said.

Separately, Njeri revealed she was no longer married to Njoroge.

However, days later, he released a song, which many claimed was indirectly responding to his wife leaving.

Njeri also posted a video of herself singing along to a song asking God for grace, and Kenyans encouraged her to keep forging ahead without looking back.
