In a concerning incident, five plainclothes police officers reportedly intruded into the premises of Kisii county governor Simba Arati's office in Lavington, Nairobi.
Allegations had surfaced against the governor, accusing him of possessing multiple illegal firearms.
According to reports from Citizen TV, the officers purportedly claimed to be conducting routine patrols and forcibly entered the compound following a confrontation with the security personnel at the premises.

Subsequently, the guard contacted Arati, who promptly arrived at the scene accompanied by his legal representative, Siaya governor James Orengo.
"They threatened to break into the office but were informed that the owner was away. When I came I found them within the compound: one was in the vehicle, another at the fishpond and the other three were behind the building.
When I confronted them, they told me that they were just patrolling and got into this particular compound unaware that it was mine. What puzzles me is why didn't they access any other apartment because there are so many in this lane?" asked the governor.
Arati asserted that the incursion was an attempt to intimidate him, particularly following his report against the DCI team in Kisii, who allegedly threatened to search his residences for illicit firearms.
Maintaining his innocence, the governor urged to be taken to court to halt the recurrent raids.
On April 15, Arati's lawyers, Orengo and MP Otiende Amollo claimed that the instructions issued by Kisii DCI officers could put his life in danger.
This came after the governor claimed that the officers were planning to plant guns at his residences.
The governor's gun drama began on January 9 when he linked Sylvanus Osoro to the shooting incident at Nyakambeni, South Mugirango constituency where he was issuing bursaries.
