Mai Mahiu: Safaricom has announced a compassionate initiative to support search and rescue efforts as Kenya continues to experience heavy rains and flooding.
At a memorial service graced by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Safaricom expressed solidarity with the bereaved families in Mai Mahiu and pledged to assist by providing communication assistance to first responders.
In collaboration with the Kenya Red Cross, Safaricom said it would provide free voice and data bundles to volunteers, aiding in the crucial first response efforts.

"Going forward, led by our CEO, we will continue to spearhead private sector initiatives to complement government and development agencies' efforts to support Kenyans at this critical time of need," Safaricom said.
Safaricom announced it had recorded a net profit of KSh 82.66 billion for its Kenya operations.
The tragic flash floods in Mai Mahiu resulted in a significant loss of life. The death toll has been reported to be at least 60.
Countrywide, over 200 people have died in several incidents occasioned by heavy flooding.
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported the business magnet Elon Musk had made a similar donation to that of Safaricom to Brazil, which is also under the chokehold of floods.
Through his internet satellite internet service Starlink, Musk said he would provide free connectivity services to rescuers.
