The angry residents claimed the newly established nightclub is 100 metres away from a school, which they said endangers school-going children.

"We are asking the County Commissioner to act swiftly and shut down Oscar Sudi's Club Timba XO because of its proximity (100 m) to Nova School.
"We are wondering if other restaurants have been closed; why are they not touching on the one owned by Sudi? Is it a church or what?" a resident posed.

Why Kapseret residents are doubting Oscar Sudi's source of funds

They also accused the lawmaker of allegedly perpetuating alcoholism in their area by building big bars, despite President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, leading the fight against illicit brew.

The residents demanded to know where Sudi was getting all the money he was splashing around during fundraising activities.

"I am surprised that Oscar Sudi can contribute KSh 3 million more than the president. He must tell us where the money is coming from," another resident said.

Merewet ward residents decry the high rate of alcoholism

Meanwhile, residents of Merewet ward in Uasin Gishu county decried the high rate of alcoholism among men and youth.

The locals were appalled that most men had sunk into drinking throughout the day and doing too little, if at all, to provide for their families.

Area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Isaac Chirchir, a local chief, and locals resolved to jointly achieve zero-alcohol access in the local villages.

One passionate lady decried the effects of alcoholism in the area and said illicit brews and cheap wines and spirits sold in local pubs and bars had rendered most men unproductive.
