Faced with a growing clientele and the need to provide for his large family, he sought a new way to satisfy his clients.

With no formal education, he relied on his wit and determination to modify his bicycle from two wheels to a three-wheeler.

Ramadhan's self-made "pick-up" even has a reverse gear, something ordinary bicycles and motorcycles lack.

"I've been able to educate my children through this bike. One is currently in Form 2 and another in Form 4," he said proudly.

Bike of hope

Although uneducated, Ramadhan is committed to ensuring his children attend school, which is the only way out of poverty.

The dedicated entrepreneur is a proud father of nine and eight grandchildren, a household whose fortunes he wants to change.

Aisha told TUKO.co.ke that Ramadhan's biggest wish is to acquire a mortar for his bike to give his operations a new level of efficiency.

"I was walking when I bumped into him on the road. He says a mortar will make his bike more efficient and reduce his physical toil," she said.

With an entire household looking up to him, Ramadhan's bicycle ferries more than just water—it carries hope.
