Stephen Chogo Visendi, a 51-year-old foreman from Vihiga County, hit the jackpot by winning a whopping KSh 10 million in SportPesa’s Goal Rush game.

The construction worker and electrician, who typically earned KSh 1200 daily, experienced an extraordinary change of fate overnight.

What was Visendi's reaction to the win?

According to a statement from SportPesa, Visendi is the inaugural jackpot winner of the company's new free-to-play product, Goal Rush.

Upon receiving the congratulatory message, Visendi was overcome with emotion, his disbelief giving way to joyous tears.

“I could not believe it (when I saw the message). I didn’t sleep that night, and I kept chatting with the customer care official,” he said.

Having confirmed the reality of his newfound wealth, Visendi broke into Jemimah Thiong'o's song "Akisema Atakubariki" (when God decides to bless you, nobody can stop it).

How does Visendi intend to use the money?

The Kitengela-based man told TUKO.co.ke that he plans to use the money to start a cereals business for his entrepreneurial wife.

Part of the funds will also be invested in property as part of his strategy to build a strong foundation for his family’s future.

Given that he prioritises education, Visendi intends to allocate funds to ensure his children have access to quality learning opportunities.

“Winning this money is a life-changing blessing. I am excited to invest in property and provide a bright future for my children through quality education,” he shared.

Man to dump wife who took loans for him

Elsewhere, a man is on the verge of dumping his wife over what he believes is a string of misfortunes.

He says the wife has taken loans twice to help him start businesses since he is unemployed, but they all keep collapsing.

Convinced that his presence is detrimental to her future, he contemplates leaving to struggle away from the woman who has stood by him through thick and thin.
