The head of state appealed to Israel to exercise maximum restraint, emphasising the already delicate situation in the Middle East.

He underscored the urgent need for all parties to step back from the precipice, recognising the immense difficulty of recovery once a point of no return is reached.

"Kenya is deeply concerned by Iran's attack on the State of Israel. This disturbing development only aggravates an already delicate situation in the Middle East. In responding to this act of aggression, Kenya urges Israel to show utmost restraint taking into account the urgent need for all parties to walk away from the brink beyond which recovery will be enormously difficult," said Ruto.
