As schools re-open, President William Ruto has moved the hearts of parents in Ngando, Dagoretti South Constituency.

What did William Ruto promise in Dagoretti South?

William Ruto promised to purchase school uniforms and shoes for all pupils enrolling for the first time at Lenana Primary School.

During the school's official opening on Monday, May 13, Ruto said he built the institution because he felt bad seeing students not attend school.

"You see these students with no school uniform; I want the school administration to send people who make school uniforms to take measurements. I will pay. But first, let them go to class and study," he said.

He further urged residents to allow their children to report to school.

Why did Ruto build Lenana Primary School?

Ruto reiterated that the institution's establishment fulfilled his commitment four years ago following the collapse of Precious Talent School.

The president further announced that his administration has already constructed 22 classrooms, with a current enrollment of at least 1300 students.

He added that the facilities are designated to serve students from Grades 1 to 4.

Additionally, plans are underway to erect an additional 24 classrooms to accommodate students in higher grades.

Pupil speaks to William Ruto via phone call

Earlier on, the young girl who went viral online after her emotional reaction to President William Ruto's school reopening announcement received a call from him.

The head of state contacted the young girl, Tinsely Nduta, after she trended on social media.

Nduta was broken after Ruto announced that schools would open on Monday, May 13 after he had declared that they would not be opened until further notice.

Mama Tinsley conversed with Ruto prior to his request to address Nduta, who lounged beside her mother, while eating ice cream.
