President William Ruto on Thursday, April 25 chaired the meeting of the Multi-Agency Response team for floods at State House Nairobi.
During the meeting, Ruto directed the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to offer their expertise to save Kenyans
"I have asked the military to provide the capabilities they have to support citizens. They have been working in various parts of the country," Ruto said.
He acknowledged the challenge of floods in different areas, calling on citizens to be on alert, especially those in flood-prone areas.

He said consideration will be given to them, as daily alerts will given on possible floods.
"We have the challenge of now floods, in different areas. we need to be very proactive in what interventions we need to make as there are citizens living in dangerous places and they are the most vulnerable at this point," he said."
He further said he issued a directive to the National Youth Service (NYS) after consultation to provide land to relocate those affected by floods in Nairobi.
"We need to inform citizens if they are in places that pose danger and begin to relocate them. I already told the NYS to provide land to relocate people who are in the most dangerous part of Nairobi," Ruto said.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said the committee's response center will be based at Nyayo House to monitor flooding across the country.
He said the affected families will be provided with food and non-food, as he chairs a national disaster committee response, which will further give directives.
"The outlook for next week indicates that the country will receive above normal rainfall across the country, and all members of the public are asked to exercise caution while traveling and those in low lands to move to higher grounds. We appeal to Kenyans not to dare nature," he said.
Former MP Alfred Keter asked President William Ruto to have empathy for Kenyans suffering due to floods and declare it a national disaster.
Echoing his sentiments on Wednesday evening, Azimio leader Raila Odinga urged, as he disclosed that MPs from Azimio had donated KSh 1 million.
