Shawn Kemp's Seattle Mansion Is Now $1.2 Million Cheaper

Former NBA star Shawn Kemp is struggling to unload his huge 13,000-square-foot mansion in the Seattle area, as evidenced by its recent significant price drop. TMZ reports that the retired Seattle SuperSonic has cut the asking price of his place by $1.2 million compared to its original asking price last year, and it now sits at $2.5 million.

That's only a hundred grand more than he paid for the place way back in 2003, which also happens to be the last year he played professionally in the NBA. But a meager profit probably won't be enough to keep Kemp awake at night, given his very lucrative and long-lasting career in the NBA.

As for the mansion itself, it's located in Maple Valley, Washington, near Seattle, and is nestled in five acres of lakeside forested land. The two-story home was seemingly designed for someone of Kemp's nearly seven-foot-tall stature, with high ceilings throughout the house.

Paneled walls are visible in both the living room and the home's formal dining room, and the house boasts five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms altogether. That includes a spacious master suite complete with hot tub, while other highlights are not just one but two wet bars, a four-car garage, and a second-floor balcony that overlooks the property.

The house is also well suited for a car buff, since in addition the aforementioned four-car garage, there's also an additional separate garage that's even bigger. It's sharing space on the five-acre gated property with a swimming pool and spa, a putting green, a tennis court, and, naturally, a basketball court.
