Kavitark Ram Shriram is an Indian-born businessman and investor who has a net worth of $1.8 billion dollars. Born in Madras, India, in the mid-1950s, Kavitark Ram Shriram graduated from the University of Madras before immigrating to the United States and later earning his U.S. citizenship. Shriram worked for Netscape in 1994 and soon left for Junglee, where he became president. Junglee was an online comparison shopping site that was eventually bought out by Jeff Bezos and Amazon.com. Bezos hired Shriram to stay with Amazon, where he worked as one of the company's officers. He became one of the first investors in Google and currently sits on the company's board as a founding member. Since 2012, he has unloaded about 70% of his shares in Google.

Shriram's other investments include InMobi and mKhoj. In 2000, he founded a venture capital firm to focus on new, emerging technologies. In addition to Google, he serves on the boards of Paperless Post, Zazzle, and StumbleUpon. Shriram is married and has two children. He currently lives in Menlo Park, California. He is a trustee at Stanford University and created the Shriram Family Professorship in Science Education.
