Manchester United will soon be looking for a new coach if results under Erik ten Hag do not improve in the coming months.
The Red Devils have had a difficult start to the season, and their draw at home to FC Twente in the Europa League raised more questions about the manager.
The former Ajax coach was on the brink last season, but the FA Cup bought him some time.
The 20-time English champions started the 2024/25 season with a home win against Fulham in the Premier League but lost to Brighton and Liverpool.

Wins against Southampton and Barnsley calmed the fans down but draws against Crystal Palace, and FC Twente have elicited more criticism, with some calling for the coach to be fired.
Some fans have already lost patience with the coach, but the board recently clarified that they are solidly behind him. Here are four coaches the coach could bring in if the Dutchman is fired.
The legendary striker returned to the club in the summer as the assistant coach, and some feel he will be the frontrunner for ten Hag's job if he leaves. He coached PSV in the Eredivisie, meaning he has the experience to coach. He played for the club and scored many goals in the 2000s and knows what fans expect, especially after years of mediocrity.
"I felt a strong feeling I want to help build United, little by little, to where we feel and know the club should be. I know, I was on a managerial track," he said. "I was at PSV, it was an unbelievable experience," he told Rio Ferdinand via Manchester Evening News.
The German is one of the big-name coaches currently without a job after leaving Bayern Munich. The Red Devils reportedly contacted him before handing ten Hag a new deal. He has coached Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern, meaning he can lead a top European club. He won the Champions League with Chelsea, but his final season at Bayern raises a few questions.
Southgate vacated his England role after the Three Lions' defeat in the Euro 2024 final. Under Southgate, England produced consistent performances in major tournaments but fell short in big moments.
His reactive and defensive football will not be welcomed by Man United fans. Southgate was heavily criticised for employing a style that held back a star-studded England side. His name came up in the summer, and the club might look for him when Erik ten Hag goes.
The young coach was an assistant under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before he left to become Ipswich Town manager. He led the club to back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League for the first time since 2002.
If Ipswich survives and gets a respectable finish in the league, he could be the one to replace the Dutchman.
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Erik ten Hag explained what went wrong for his team against FC Twente in the Europa League.
The former Ajax boss attributed part of the blame to his players but also said he was responsible.
