Nakuru: 8 Confirmed Dead, Scores Injured In Multi-Car Accident Near Salgaa

• At least eight people have died and more than 30 were injured in a road accident in the Migaa area in Molo Constituency, Nakuru county

Nakuru - A sombre atmosphere has settled over the Migaa area near Salgaa in Molo Constituency following a tragic collision involving a Coast bus and multiple other vehicles.

According to the Kenya Red Cross Society, the accident, which occurred at 4am on Tuesday, August 20, resulted in eight fatalities and left over 30 individuals injured.

"Thirty-six injured individuals have been taken to Molo and Coptic hospitals following a road traffic incident involving a PSV bus and multiple vehicles at Migaa in Molo, Nakuru county," confirmed KRCS.

The Coast bus, en route from Kakamega to Mombasa, had an undetermined number of passengers at the time of the crash.

The Kenya Red Cross Society deployed response teams to the scene, and the injured are currently receiving medical care at Coptic and Molo Hospitals.

Rescue operations commenced Tuesday morning, amid concerns that additional bodies might be trapped in the twisted wreckage of the bus.

"The Kenya Red Cross, alongside a multi-agency response team, is still at the scene providing assistance," KRCS added.

Meanwhile, the cause of the accident is yet to be established.

Family of 5 die in Nakuru accident

In other news, a family of five lost their lives in an accident along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway while heading to Kakamega.

The police reported that the family's Mercedes Benz was overtaking in the wrong lane when it collided with an oncoming lorry.

The lorry's driver, who witnessed the incident, stated that the car's driver, who survived but was injured, was speeding.
