Bahati Claims He Makes More Money Than Many Kenyan MPs: "Kuna Wenye Hawaendeshi Range Rover"

Musician Bahati has claimed that he earns more money than many Kenyan parliamentarians.

Speaking to content creators, Bahati addressed why he ran for the Mathare MP seat in 2022, a race in which he was ultimately unsuccessful.

Was Bahati's bid for MP motivated by money?

When asked if his motivation for running was the hefty salary, Bahati confidently stated that he makes more than the standard salary of an MP.

"I am making more money than an MP. How much does an MP earn? How much is it?" Bahati asked the interviewer.

"Around KSh 900,000," the interviewer responded.

"So what is KSh 900,000? There are MPs who can't afford to drive the Range Rover I gifted Diana," Bahati remarked, referring to his wife's luxury vehicle.

Bahati further explained his reason for vying for the parliamentary seat:

"I wanted to make an impact in society, but I realised I can still create an impact in other ways. However, if given a chance, I would be grateful."

How much does Bahati give Diana Marua monthly?

Previously, Bahati shared a video of his fiancée Diana Marua asking him for money.

The singer was puzzled by her demands for more money, despite the huge monthly allowance he gives her.

The video showed Diana hurriedly leaving their palatial home as Bahati was about to drive off.

Diana said her allowance was depleted, and she needed cash for makeup, wigs and outfits.

The singer wondered whether Diana had depleted her monthly allowance, which he revealed was KSh 1 million.

Bahati then claimed that Diana was misusing money as she sulked.

The singer said that Diana has the log books for their luxury cars and should use them to get a loan.
