Brazil are rarely considered a top footballing nation these days because of their performances in the last few years.
They have stumbled in World Cups since winning them in 2002, and their recent performances have shown that they still have a way to go to become a competitive side again.
Their coach, Dorival Junior, has boldly predicted that Brazil will reach the 2026 World Cup final, which will be hosted in North America.

Their World Cup qualifying campaign hasn't started well. They sit fourth in the CONMEBOL standings after winning three of their seven qualifiers.
Dorival was appointed in January but came under fire after a poor showing at the Copa America. The last major trophy they won was the 2019 Copa America.
Brazil last reached a World Cup final in 2002, where they won, but they have struggled to compete with their European counterparts.
The South American giants have never missed a World Cup tournament since its inception in 1930, and failure to qualify will be viewed as a disaster.
Since lifting the trophy in 2002, Brazil have reached the World Cup semi-final once, in 2014, when they were thrashed 7-1 by eventual champions Germany.
Dorival Junior is confident they will make the final in the 2026 edition in North America.
“We will be in the 2026 World Cup final. We will be finalists," he said via Fabrizio Romano. “You can film me while I’m saying this. I have no doubts. We will be there.”
Brazil were one of the favourites to win the 2022 World Cup but were upset by Croatia, who beat them on penalties.
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Brazil winger Rodrygo expressed his disappointment over his omission from the Ballon d'Or nominees.
The winger contributed immensely to Real Madrid's La Liga and Champions League double.
