Lamu - Former Laikipia county woman representative Cate Waruguru has strongly rebuked Kenya Kwanza Alliance lawmakers orchestrating impeachment plot against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The former lawmaker said MPs pushing for Gachagua's impeachment will not stand a chance come the 2027 General Election.

According to Waruguru, the second in command fought hard to ensure Kenya Kwanza won the 2022 election, adding that voters will not let those humiliating him go scot-free.

“We want to tell those bringing impeachment motion; some of them are my sisters and they are looking for signatures to send Gachagua home. People are watching you very closely. Anyone who wants to fight his or her elder brother will be sent home early in the morning,” Waruguru said.

The outspoken politician vowed that she would not allow “selfish” people to interfere with the relationship between President William Ruto and his deputy.

When will the impeachment motion against Gachagua be tabled?

As TUKO.co.ke report, the deputy president could be out of office before December this year should the impeachment machinations against him succeed.

Sources indicated the motion is already within the National Assembly's precincts, and efforts are in top gear to sail it through the essential stages.

The plot is being revived months after it was dropped following a reported intervention of the president.

NTV reports that the motion might be tabled on the floor of the house next week after the proponents have built a case against the deputy president.

Gachagua's naysayers want him out of office "before December".

Those behind the plot are said to have been holding series of night meetings to actualise it.
