Nairobi - A young man has shared his heartbreaking story of finding himself in Kenya despite being born and raised in the US.

Andy said he was in Kenya on a family vacation, which was the last time with them.

He did not come to the country with his biological parents, adding that he was abandoned when he was very young.

How did Andy come to Kenya?

He spent some time in foster care before being put up for adoption, and a family welcomed him into their home.

"We had come for a vacation in Kenya when my parents left me behind. I have no idea where they are. My friend took me off the street and brought me here, where they work. He told me we can work here and get something to eat," Andy said.

Andy said he had to survive by blending in with his new family in Dandora, Nairobi County.

He spoke fluent American English and shared his background and upbringing before coming to Kenya.

Andy narrates his challenging moment in Kenya

One of his lowest and most challenging moments was sleeping in the streets before finding a new family.

"When people speak to me and hear how I talk, some criticise me, saying I am faking, while others expect me to have money. Adapting to the new life here has been difficult, but I am trying. I have felt even more Kenyan since I came here in 2020.

I am looking forward to that Kenyan citizenship," he happily said.

The teenager added that he could not tell the nationality of his biological parents as he barely spent time with them in his early childhood.

Kisumu street man with impeccable English

Separately, a street man living in Kisumu county impressed many people with his impeccable English while sharing his life.

According to the young man, he was the son of Rebecca Makhulu of Kaimosi Nursery School and attended Kaimosi Primary School and Friends School Kigma for secondary education.

Netizens who saw the video were amazed by the man's impeccable English as he talked, and some wanted to help him.
