Kisumu—Former Roads minister Franklin Bett has been injured in an accident on the Awasi-Kericho Road in Kisumu county.
An accident report at Awasi Police Station indicates three other people, including his driver, were injured in the accident that occurred in the Karange area on Thursday, August 15.

According to the police report, Bett’s four-wheel-drive car rammed into a tractor carrying sugarcane at 7pm.
The former Roads minister sustained a deep cut on the forehead, while two female passengers and the driver sustained minor injuries
"The accident happened when the said vehicle hit the unknown tractor that was carrying sugar canes from behind as they were heading in the same direction. As a result of the accident the former minister for Roads Franklin Bett sustained a deep cut on the fore head while the other two female adults and the driver sustained slight injuries.
Preliminary investigations show Bett’s driver did not notice the tractor was ahead of him as it did not have any signage.
Police reports said the tractor did not stop after the accident as the driver proceeded to his unknown destination.
The former minister was rushed to Awasi Catholic Hospital and later referred to Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu for further treatment.
In other news, 30 people were injured in an accident which involved a Rockside Academy school bus and a truck in the Sachangwan area in Nakuru county.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred after the school bus and the truck collided, forcing the bus to overturn.
Among those injured were 26 pupils who were rushed to Molo Sub-County Hospital and Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment.
