The Kenya national football team has struggled to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in recent years due to bans and underwhelming performances.
They kick off their 2025 qualifying campaign this week, and there are high expectations from fans.
Former Harambee Stars coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee has discussed the team's chances of reaching the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Harambee Stars last reached the AFCON in 2019 but failed to go past the group stages. They lost to Senegal and Algeria and beat Tanzania.

In the qualifiers, they are in Group J alongside giants Cameroon, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
Enging Firat's team opens their qualifiers against Zimbabwe and then faces Namibia. They will face Zimbabwe at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Uganda, on Friday, September 6.
The Turkish coach said they are aiming to qualify for the 2025 AFCON
“We are aware our fans are thirsty for Afcon action and we are ready to work extremely hard to realise the dream and make them happy. They should expect good results,” Firat said via The Star.
Kenya has only qualified for six AFCON tournaments in their history, with two coming in the 21st century.
Mulee coached Harambee Stars at the 2004 AFCON in Tunisia, winning once and losing two of their group matches.
With the tournament expanded to 24 teams, Kenya has a great chance of qualifying with the top two in every group going through.
Mulee is optimistic about Kenya's chances.
As much as we’re playing our home games away in Uganda, we must make sure we win all of them. The team is very good. I have confidence in them, and they should go out there and fight without giving any excuses,” he said per Passion Sports.
The bad news for Kenya's match against Zimbabwe is that team captain Michael Olunga is out of the squad due to injury.
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that fans were disappointed with the new Harambee Stars jersey for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
Fans on social media highlighted the design, especially the colours, advising the team to mix flag colours.
