Moreover, the post has been accompanied by a caption which reads:
“Single moms, we said we are fixing this nation; if someone decided to be a deadbeat, let it be forever.”
The post has since garnered mixed reactions, with netizens expressing their opinion of the woman’s decision to shut her son’s father out of his life completely.
Cathlyons shared a similar experience stating:
“My friend gave birth when she was in Form One, the child is now 13 years old and wants to see the dad. We took her to a stranger’s grave and told her he died. Are we evil guys?”
Lauryn Murwayi:
"It can never be me. Whether a man is supporting me or not, I can’t be bitter, if he asks about his child, I will respond nicely but if he doesn’t, I will not bother him because noting can change the fact that the child is his.”
Veelight:
“Every birthday I tell my baby daddy his daughter is turning this number of years; he doesn’t even send money for cake, but I do it anyway. I told him the day he will decide to come for his child he knows what to do.”
Redflag buddy:
“Looks like jokes until it happens for real; watch your tongue, or just ignore him.”
Njeri
“This bitterness usually ends my fellow mums, and you move on and raise your child in peace. Give it time.”
In separate news reported by TUKO.co.ke, a father of three in Kiambu called out deadbeat fathers, saying abandoned children suffer for their actions.
According to Davin Njoroge, children who didn't have present dads had a tougher upbringing as they did not have role models.
He called on men to stay away from women and sexual activities if they were not ready to take up fatherly duties.
