Kericho - Victor, an orphan from Mabwaita village in Kapkatet Ward, made a remarkable recovery after being bedridden for months and reliant on a wheelchair.

Victor's story started unfolding in April 2022 when disability rights advocates Hazel Chebet and Carol Yegon highlighted his plight.

This led to the involvement of Dr Japheth Cheruiyot and Sosit Professionals.

With the support of the local community, Victor was taken to Kericho County Referral Hospital, where he underwent intensive therapy sessions.

Janet, a therapist at Kaplong Mission Hospital, offered her services and supplements at her own expense, playing a crucial role in his recovery.

Thanks to the collective efforts of the community and healthcare professionals, Victor managed to overcome his immobility.

He no longer requires a wheelchair and can now walk independently, a recovery that has brought immense joy to his family.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, philanthropist Jonathan Metet disclosed that Victor had achieved yet another milestone.

"He recently joined Kericho National Polytechnic, where he is pursuing a course in electrical installations," he said.

Metet underpinned that Victor's new chapter marks a significant step in his journey, offering him hope for a bright future.
