A family in Kagio is in deep mourning after their relative, Morris Murimi, a charcoal seller, was found buried in Kiamugungo Forest in Kirinyaga.
According to a police report, 24-year-old Murimi was reported missing by his family on Wednesday, August 7.

This led the police to start searching for the rest of the body. They reported that a foul smell led them to Murimi's body.
The smell led us to the location of the body parts, some scattered, others buried in a shallow grave," Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Commander Moses Koskei said.
The late Murimi's mother, Grace Wangari, said the last time she saw her son, he mentioned going to Kiamugungo village to collect charcoal from a customer.
Wangari claimed that the man who contacted her son also stole his motorcycle after killing him.
Murimi's wife said she learned of her husband's death after being contacted by the police. She also noted that she identified him by his clothes.
"It was devastating to see his body cut into pieces at the joints," she said.
Murimi's body was transported to Kerugoya mortuary for a postmortem examination.
In a separate incident, grief and sorrow engulfed Kipyemit village in Londiani Sub County following the death of a 38-year-old man.
Gilbert Kiprotich Rono was found dead days after he was reported missing.
Area Assistant Chief John Langat said Rono went missing on Sunday, June 30, after he left home to attend a church service.
Family members reported the matter at Chepseon police station on Monday, July 1, as they mounted a search for their kin.
Friends and relatives were left in shock after Rono's body was found floating in a water pan in the neighbouring Bariit village.
