Kitui - The young children who lost their lives following a hit-and-run road accident have been laid to rest.
A car hit the six children on their way to school early in the morning, leaving many, especially their families, broken.
It was noted three of the six children who died at Wiitu Shopping Centre after being hit by a Toyota Probox belonged to one family.

"Mass burial for six kids who perished in a grisly road accident at Kyoani, Kitui South, is currently ongoing. Several leaders from Kitui county were present. Rest in peace to the young souls," read the heartbreaking caption on a post.
Several photos were shared to accompany the post, showing the setup of the emotional burial ceremony.
Six caskets were laid on a red carpet under a tent that blocked direct sun rays from hitting the wooden coffins.
Every casket also had flowers on top that were the same design, colour, and make.
There were several police vans visible in the background and other personal cars parked in the venue.
There was also another tent where the guests sat as they silently mourned the demise of the precious souls.
Social media users headed to the comment section to pen emotional messages as they joined many in mourning the little ones.
Fay Ndunge:
"So sad to lose such young angels. May their souls rest in peace, condolences."
Joseph Nzioki:
"Rest in peace, young ones. May the Heavenly Father wipe the tears of this family and friends as I send my condolences."
Owino Dan:
"Life is fickle. Condolences to the bereaved parents and community."
Johnson Karimi:
"What a sad day for parents and community."
Guka WA Precious:
"This is unfortunate, especially for their parents and close relatives. May Almighty God grant them eternal resting and peace to their parents."
In another story, Moses Ssemwogerere, his wife Rebecca Arinaitwe, and their two children lived abroad since 2007.
They planned on returning home for the first time in December, but that never happened.
The four were buried together in an emotional ceremony at Kisawo village, wiping out their entire household.
