Machakos County Announces 1000 Vacancies For Kenyan Youth: "Must Be18 To 35 Years"

The county government of Machakos has advertised massive vacancies seeking to address youth unemployment.

In an advert posted on its social media page and in Kenyan newspapers, the county noted successful candidates will work under its Ng'arisha Mtaa Programme.

The county said the recruitment will be conducted across all its sub-locations at the assistant chief's office on Wednesday, August 28, with priority given to those who will report to the interview first.

"The county government of Machakos is hiring 1000 youths as casuals (both men and women) across the county under its Ng'arisha Mtaa Programme (clean up exercise) in municipalities, urban towns and markets for the next 12 months," the advert read.

Machakos county explained that the clean-up exercise will focus on solid waste management.

"For one to qualify, one must be a youth (between 18 to 35 years) residing within Machakos county. The recruitment exercise will be carried out across all sub-locations in Machakos on Wednesday, August 28, on a first to arrive first to be enlisted basis," it added.

Which jobs did NSSF advertise?

In related news, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) advertised over 100 vacancies, and qualified candidates are asked to submit their applications by Monday, September 9.

In an advert on its website, NSSF announced 131 job openings, including vacancies for drivers, ICT officers, office administrators and fingerprint officers.

NSSF explained that it offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth that align with approved policies.

Amid scarce employment opportunities in Kenya, several government departments, agencies, and counties advertised job openings.

National Youth Service (NYS) announced over 1000 job vacancies for NYS graduates in Australia and Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection sought thousands of enumerators and supervisors for a data collection drive in 12 counties.

At the same time, the Public Service Commission (PSC) announced the opening of 142 job vacancies across various ministries and state departments.
