In a separate incident, tragedy struck Ramula village in Gwasi West, Suba South constituency, after two children perished in a house fire.

The victims, Saviour Omondi, a three-year-old PP1 pupil at Ramula Primary School, and his one-and-a-half-year-old brother, Reagan Otieno, were burned beyond recognition during the blaze, which occurred at 3 am on Saturday, September 14.

Area Chief Tobias Opiyo, in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, confirmed that the children’s parents had attended a night prayer service at a nearby home when the fire broke out.

Opiyo also stated that the children's father Paul Ogolla suspected the fire may have been started by a night runner known to visit his home, although he had no known conflicts with anyone in the village.

The night runner remained unidentified, and authorities treated the case as suspected arson based on Ogolla's account.

The police, alerted by Opiyo, responded quickly to the scene. The bodies were transported to St. Carmella's Karungu for postmortem, and further investigations are ongoing.
