Veteran media personality Mwende Macharia has announced that she is leaving Radio Maisha after 14 years of service.
The radio host posted a long post on her Instagram page, thanking everyone who helped build her brand.
As she bid her colleagues goodbye, she also acknowledged how her long-term employer helped her build a career in radio.
Mwende was working for Radio Maisha which is part of the Standard Media Group umbrella that recently announced that it was firing 300 people due to business restructuring.

Part of Mwende's post read:
"I would like to thank Standard Group management for the opportunity to grow my career and brand over the past 14 years. Most importantly, I would like to extend my gratitude to my fans all over the country and beyond for holding down the queen. You guys are the best, and I really do appreciate you. I wish my colleagues at Radio Maisha all the best."
She, however, teased that she was excited for her next place of assignment and promised to alert her fans.
"I can not wait to share with you my next home so that I can continue doing what I do best. I am beyond thrilled already," she added.

The radio host could not hold her excitement as she celebrated her son, who was turning a year older.
While penning a beautiful birthday message in his honour, many fans could not stop admiring how beautiful her house looked.
Her sofas almost matched the mat on the floor where Mwende and her son sat as they played together.
