Nairobi police chief Adamson Bungei confirmed that the fire has been brought under control and no casualties have been reported, as authorities hasten efforts to investigate the precise cause of the explosion.
“Some of the staff who were here ran away for their safety as the fire approached faster,” Bungei said.
Additionally, Bungei said that property of unknown value was destroyed. Footage shared on social media platforms showed huge flames erupting from the station.

The incident brought back fresh memories of the gas explosion in Embakasi.
A fire at a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) filling plant in Embakasi East Constituency, Nairobi, resulted in three fatalities.
Then Deputy Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja confirmed that three individuals had been confirmed dead.
Additionally, the number of injuries increased from 222 to 271, as reported by the police chief at the scene.
