A Kenyan woman is searching for a stranger who paid her bus fare to Ngara in Nairobi.

The businesswoman, identified as Winjoy Kananu, narrated that the man seated next to her in the matatu politely asked if he could pay her fare, and she agreed.

The kind gesture made her want to proceed to Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) with the guy, as she was too shy to ask for her number.

“Today a total stranger paid my matatu fare. He was holding one thousand Kenyan shillings and asked if he could please pay my fare.

“I almost failed to alight at my stop in Ngara to follow him so that we spend the balance,”she stated.

Winjoy is now looking for this kind man, noting that he could be her soulmate.

“I was too shy to ask for his number, I feel like a total failure. Maybe he is my lost rib. You are the man who paid my fare, please get in touch,” she pleaded.

Has Winjoy found her soulmate?

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the businesswoman explained that she is yet to get any information about the stranger or even meet him again.

She noted that upon posting the story on her Facebook page, many men claimed to be the one, but none of them were him.

“Many men have come out claiming to be him, but from our interaction in the matatu, I mastered his facial appearance, and most of the profiles I have checked do not match,” she explained.

Besides, Winjoy said the comments were too many and overwhelming to search through for her kind stranger.

However, she hopes that she will one day either meet him again or he will contact her.

Why Winjoy feels stranger who paid her fare is her soulmate

The businesswoman explained that she also occasionally pays the fare for strangers when moved by her instincts.

She further noted that sometimes the people she pays bus money for share their financial problems while appreciating her help.

“Talking about paying fares, I always pay fares to strangers occasionally. I usually feel a push from my inner person to pay the fare to the person sitting next to me."
“And guess what? After I paid, some opened up that the fare they were to pay was their only money. Some say they were on their way to look for jobs and they had no other means to get back home. They are always grateful for saying I am God sent,” she said.

Winjoy urged her followers to help when they are in a position to, noting that some people may be all dressed up and looking good but are going through tough times.

“I know the guy who paid the fare for me today. He always does that to others. May God bless such people,” she concluded.

Kenyan woman rewarded after paying fare for stranger

In an almost similar incident reported by TUKO.co.ke, a woman found herself in a weird situation when her phone battery died before paying bus fare.

A total stranger, Sarah Ouma, offered to pay the sum of KSh 80 without expecting anything in return.

However, the woman later sent Sarah KSh 2000 in appreciation, leaving her wondering whether to return the amount or keep it as it was an act of kindness.
