Nairobi - A 29-year-old student from the University of Nairobi has been found dead.

Collins Kiprop Kosgei, a fifth-year medicine student, was discovered at the main hall residence following his demise on Monday, September 2.

Kilimani police chief Ben Kobia confirmed the incident, noting that students who found the body in Kosgei's were stunned and promptly reported it to the authorities, according to TV47.

What killed Collins Kosgei?

The deceased’s head was found wrapped in nylon paper, and no additional information regarding the cause of death was available at the scene.

Kosgei's cause of death remains unknown at the time of reporting.

The body has been transported to City Mortuary for an autopsy, while police continue their investigation.

Kobia has also highlighted the importance of seeking professional counselling during difficult times to help prevent such tragedies in the future.

In other news, an 18-year-old lady from Kwanza Constituency preparing to join a Makueni college was found dead in a maize plantation after missing for two days.

Eunice Akinyi had left her home to go collect her secondary school leaving certificate when she met the unforgiving assailants.

Her mother disclosed that Akinyi's body was found unclothed with her hands and legs tied. She explained that her daughter had not wronged anyone and thus wondered why her life was cut shot.

They pleaded with authorities to thoroughly investigate the death of their child so that the perpetrators are brought to book.
