Nairobi Woman Grateful After Petrol Station Accepts To Fuel Her Car On Credit: "Humanity Exists"

Businesswoman Pauline Kinja has recounted an unexpected experience at a petrol station that left her both surprised and grateful.

In a candid social media post, the foodpreneur shared that she intended to fuel two cars, totalling KSh 20,000.

She instructed her chef via WhatsApp to allocate KSh 5,000 to one vehicle and KSh 15,000 to another.

However, due to a miscommunication, the entire amount was used to fuel the first vehicle, leaving her without extra cash for the second car.

"In a moment of uncertainty, I approached the petrol station attendants and explained my situation," she wrote.

To her surprise, they allowed her to fuel the second car on credit, trusting that she would return later in the day to settle the bill.

This act of trust and understanding from the attendants left a lasting impression on her.

"The kind attendant essentially risked his job for the sake of humanity," she told TUKO.co.ke when reached for comment.

She believes that the deal was easier to negotiate because she is a regular customer at the petrol station.

Kinja's post emphasized the importance of trust in business transactions, noting that such experiences are not limited to petrol stations.

She mentioned that similar situations have occurred in supermarkets, where she could purchase on credit.

This was made possible through an agreement that she would pay before the store closed.

Kinja's message was clear: "Anything is possible," she wrote, encouraging others to keep pushing forward, even when faced with unexpected hurdles.

As of the time of filing this story, the businesswoman had already cleared the KSh 5,000 bill she owed the petrol station.
