Nairobi: A young woman who had saved up for a car is in pain after she was allegedly conned KSh 2 million by a businesswoman identified as Pascaline Peter aka Passy Ma Trevor.
TUKO.co.ke has learnt that a group of Kenyans is in pain after Passy allegedly swindled them about KSh 350 million through a shylock scheme and a land sale company identified as Pafrim.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a member of the group shared that she met Passy at driving school in 2018, when she was just a university student.

"We stayed in touch and started communicating over Facebook. That is how I learnt about the shylock business; Passy told me that she had been running the business but demand had grown and she didn't the cash to continue," said the victim.
"In 2024, she posted on her WhatsApp status testimonials of palatial houses, cars and homes that members allegedly built for their parents with the returns from their investments," she added.
With such testimonials, the lady got interested, and when she reached out to Passy, the latter asked if she had any money.
"Do you have any money just lying around? She told me you are not being bright. So I wired her KSh 450,000. During the first months, she paid promptly. Passy made us feel so secure because she said that she was going to pay us even when people failed to pay then go back to chase the ones that had defaulted," said the lady.
"She used to pay a good amount. For instance, KSh 100, 000 would fetch KSh 23, 500. The first one she gave me KSh 105,000. In June, I sent her KSh 1.3 million and she paid me KSh 200, 000 and in July I sent her about KSh 200,000," revealed the lady.
The pained victim then shared that Passy went to Mombasa to enjoy a holiday with her family members and she wasn't in communication with anybody.
"She came back and said she needed time to sort out everybody. We learnt that she wasn't supposed to pay KSh 5 million, but KSh 16 million. Pressure increased and the group that formed a WhatsApp group decided to visit her home," revealed the investor.
When the investors formed a WhatsApp group, they learnt that there were no success stories and no one had built mansions or bought cars with the proceeds of their investments.
She just got their names and would play around with the Christian names and surnames.
"We visited her place and she said even her children thought it was a party or something. That was the last time we heard from her; she left us in debt, and close relationships have been broken," said the lady.
According to the lady, she introduced her beloved parents to the scheme, and they lost money.
Her father was so angry with her that he almost took a stick to beat her, and there were domestic wrangles with her mum.
She also introduced her friends, and one of them has suffered from depression and broken relationships at home while others closed their businesses.
"She used us to get to our families and professional contacts. We have been left in deep holes. I was supposed to clear my car next week but I can't, I have gone back to matatus. I was in denial, but now I have accepted. We will rise again," she said.
In another story, Nairobi woman, Ruth Wambui, could not believe her luck after a man offered to partner with her in a business that would make her richer.
She needed to buy bottles of pesticides, and then the man would sell them on her behalf and give her some money.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Wambui recalled how she invested money in the business only to find out she had been conned.
