Nakuru - A tragic collision between two matatus occurred at the notorious Ngata blackspot on Sunday, September 8, along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, resulting in two fatalities.

"The driver began accelerating after we left the Sobea area. A passenger was getting off, and when he got back into the lane, the speeding started leading to the collision," said Lewis Mbasu.
"We had stopped in Nakuru for about an hour after the Nairobi Marathon. A few kilometres later, we were suddenly in an accident. I don't even know how it happened," added Lewis Kipkemboi.
Medical expert Boniface Tirop reported that some of the injured have been treated and discharged, while the remaining patients are expected to be released soon.
Meanwhile, the rising number of accidents across the country has sparked widespread concern about road conditions and has led to calls for increased caution while travelling.
In other news, a family of five tragically lost their lives when their taxi crashed into a stationary government bus in Rameswaram.
The family, which included a 10-day-old baby, was returning home from the hospital late at night when the accident occurred.
Authorities quickly arrived at the scene, and the deceased were taken to the morgue for postmortem procedures.
The injured, including the baby and his mother, were urgently transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
