TikTok users have taken to other social media platforms to complain after the streaming video app went down.
TikTok, which boasts over 1 billion monthly active users globally, experienced downtime, with many unable to like videos or see them on their profiles.
Other users complained that they could not go live or comment on other videos, making them wonder if they had been blocked.

The app has not released any official communication detailing what may have caused many users globally to experience streaming challenges.

On Tuesday, August 27, Downdetector.com, an outage tracking website, reported outages on social media platform X.
Downdetector revealed that over 36,500 cases were reported in the United States (US) at the peak.
The report also indicated 1,600 cases in the United Kingdom (UK) and nearly 3,300 incidents in Canada regarding disruptions.
The cause of the outage, which lasted for an hour, was not immediately established.
