A freshly published study has revealed intriguing insights about regions across the globe.
The study by Pew Research Center, conducted in 102 regions worldwide, showed that only a few people in European countries are likely to say religion plays an important part in their lives.

People in sub-Saharan Africa, the report said, were among the most religious and most likely to confess that religion was important in their lives.
"Adults in some places in this region are among the most likely worldwide to place a great deal of importance on religion," the study noted.
Other places that the report classified as most religious include Latin America and the Middle East-North Africa region.
"The places that are least religious tend to be in Europe and East Asia," the report read.
Out of the top 30 most religious countries, 18 of them were from Africa, with Senegal, Mali, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau, and Rwanda featuring in the top five.
Africa, according to Statistics Time, is considered the world's poorest continent, followed by Asia, then South America.

In Europe, where most countries are developed, was considered by the survey as the least religious, with most respondents not recognising religion as a very important aspect of their lives.
"In Estonia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Latvia, and Finland, 10% or fewer adults say this," the report read.
Indonesia, where nearly over 80% of the population is Muslim, was ranked as the most religious place in the world. Other religions present in Indonesia are Buddhism and Christianity.
In the US, about 42% of adults said religion was very important in their lives. In Latin America, about 82% of respondents in Paraguay and Guatemala said daily prayer was very important in their lives, while in Honduras and Costa Rica, the index was 78%.
In the index of daily prayer, Indonesia took the lead, with 95% of people saying they pray daily. Nigeria came in second, followed by Senegal, Iraq, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, and Djibouti.

Its GDP-PPP per capita stands at $455 (KSh 60,400). Despite abundant oil reserves, the country that gained independence from Sudan in 2011 has faced violence and stifling growth.
