Tanzania: A family in Kilimanjaro region is in pain after kidnappers mercilessly killed their handsome 17-year-old son over a KSh 280,000 ransom.

What did Nasri Ali Kitali's kidnappers want?

According to a grieving uncle, Nasri Ali Kitali said he received a call and was told that the police had arrested two of his kids who were selling illegal substances.

"I need KSh 400,000 so they can be released. My brother paid KSh 400,000 and they released one child with the motorbike. When we asked about the other one, a man on the other end of the call said 'I am not your uncle,'" said the man.

"I was told to kill all the kids if you don't send KSh 280,000. Shortly afterwards I heard my nephew being beaten and he said uncle I am being killed," said the grieving man from Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The family was called and told that their son was at a police station in Moshi. They stayed with him in the hospital.

What made Nasri's brain swell?

"When I took him to another hospital, tests results revealed that they beat him with a heavy metal on the head and his brains moved. They also beat him badly on the shoulders," he said.
"After he died they conducted a postmotem on him and realised that the brain was very swollen and that is what caused his death," he added.

The police have allegedly not involved them in any case since the boy died. He was advised to go to the provincial commissioner and report the matter.

How did criminals find Nasri ?

"Iam in so much pain because he was so young and we were really relied on him. He has never stolen and he was still a school boy. They decided to kill him after we failed to raise the money," said his uncle.
"We left our son in the hands of the police, how did he fall into the hands of criminals?" he wondered.

Police commander Simon Maigwa confirmed the incident saying that the young man and his cousin were running from the police when they lost each other; one ended up in the house of the people who started extorting them for money.

The case is still is still under investigations.
