According to Nyakundi, the party was only seeking to reclaim the cars assigned to Malala, which were being driven by the two family members at the time of the incident.

Nyakundi said the former Kakamega senator was only displaying theatrics to exaggerate the incident.

"My good friend Cleo Malalah pole sana if this happened to your family, Malala is a good drama teacher and the best in the country I can say very talented. As a party, we are very sorry for the inconvenience, but nobody is after your family. The UDA party was just taking back its CARS that we had requested you to return, and you refused. Lastly, everyone knew about your whereabouts because you were on a national television K24 for an interview. There was no abduction stop the drama," Nyakundi said.
