Ndeti said she was happy to be back in the country after her working tour, during which she followed up on fire engines and garbage collection equipment.

“I’m happy to be back home. As you are aware, I had gone to the UK for a meeting with other governors to make follow up on fire engine machines and garbage collection equipment,” Ndeti said.

From JKIA, Ndeti made a grand entrance into Machakos Town, where hundreds of his supporters welcomed her with songs and dances.

Some supporters could be heard chanting 'mama wa meko' as Ndeti acknowledged cheers from the lively crowd.

What reforms has Wavinya Ndeti initiated in Machakos

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Ndeti highlighted some of her successes, which she said were giving her opponents sleepless nights.

The Machakos governor explained how her innovative empowerment programmes and projects have positively impacted the residents.

"Our empowerment programs have left my opponents unprepared. And let me assure you—it will only get better! The number of visible, tangible, and impactful projects we’ve delivered is nothing short of remarkable," she said.

Ndeti pointed out that the revenue automation by her administration had unsettled dealers who used to benefit from the manual system.

"Our ongoing automation of county revenue streams is expected to drastically boost revenue collection. This is unsettling for those who once profited from the system's inefficiencies," she added.

How Wavinya Ndeti reacted to her arrest claims

Meanwhile, the Machakos governor denied allegations that she smuggled millions of shillings from Kenya to the United Kingdom

Online reports had alleged that a UK bank refused to accept large sums of cash from Ndeti due to concerns over the money's legitimacy

Ndeti dismissed the allegations as false and demeaning, emphasising that she and her family are safe and in good standing both in Kenya and abroad.

Ndeti announced her intention to take legal action against those spreading the defamatory rumours, accusing them of endangering her and her family's safety.
