Nairobi: After sending a passionate appeal for help to join the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kevin Omondi finally settled on campus.

How did Kevin Omondi get help?

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Stella Tande, who helped raise money for Omondi, said that he and his brother had settled in different colleges.

"All thanks to God, the two brothers are now finally settled in their respective colleges. I am so glad this has happened; a group of 10 friends came together after the TUKO.co.ke story, and contributed towards Omondi's brother's fee. The young man, who had graduated three years ago had given up," said Tande.

According to Tande, Kevin got the basic requirements needed for his stay in JKUAT: a mattress, gas, bed and shopping.

"A big thank you to Kenyans who heard his plea and came through, he now just needs a laptop for his studies. A special thank you to one Kennedy Odoh, a qualified driver who sacrificed his time for four days and drove us from Kisumu to Nairobi," said Tande.
"He was the errand boy to collect donations from well-wishers, even helped him fix his bed and the general admission process. Kennedy easened the whole process; he is a jobless qualified driver, and we pray God opens his ways, even as I leave Nairobi today for Kisumu, Iam a happy woman," she added.

Kisumu student's 2023 KCSE certificate amazes Kenyans

In another story, Omondi impressed netizens after he showcased his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate while seeking help.

The young man scored plain As and A- in all subjects except Kiswahili, where he had an impressive B+.

Netizens who saw his certificate called on philanthropists such as Eric Omondi, Sammy Ondimu Ngare and Governor Anyang' Nyong'o to help him.
