"Congratulations, Gift Atubukha Khalwale! I want to thank my family, the entire St Brigids High School-Kiminini fraternity, and above all, God for supporting my little Tubu to this milestone," said Khalwale on X, formerly Twitter.
In 2022, Khalwale was on Twitter again celebrating double milestones after two of his children shined in the 2021 KCSE test.
He lauded his daughter and son for making him proud after fairing convincingly well in the examinations.
The two attained right above the minimum university entry grades.
Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, who schooled at Alliance Girls, scored 75 aggregate points, equalling a mean grade of A- (minus), with her brother, Stephen Kapten Khalwale, who schooled at Kakamega Boys High, scoring an aggregate of 47 points, a C+ (plus).
The former lawmaker took to Twitter to celebrate the good results posted by his children.
"Celebrating twin blessings! My family and I thank God together with the teaching and non-teaching staff of Alliance Girls High School and Kakamega High School," wrote Khalwale.
While releasing the 2023 results, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu revealed that only 1,216 candidates out of 895, 533 scored a mean grade of A.
"There were 1,216 (0.14%) candidates who obtained an overall grade of A in the 2023 KCSE Examination compared to 1,146 (0.13%) candidates in the year 2022," Machogu said.
Of those who scored As, 889 were from national schools, while 172 were from extra-county schools.
Private schools produced 143 As, with county and sub-county schools producing 5 and 7 respectively.
A total of 18,078 students attained a mean grade of B+, with 10,370 males and 7,708 females. For B plain, there are 36,728 candidates, while a total of 59,514 scored B-, and 78,343 scored C+.
"The number of candidates who attained the minimum university entry qualification (Grade C+ and above) was 201,133 (22.27%) in the year 2023 KCSE Examination compared to 173,345 (19.62%) in the year 2022. This is as a result of the application of a new grading system," Machogua announced.
Over 4,000 students would not get their results due to irregularities.
"The results of the remaining 4,109 candidates who were suspected to have engaged in examination irregularities have been withheld pending the completion of investigations into their cases," the CS said.
